Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Career Development Center CDC Officer plays a vital role in supporting students’ professional development, career planning, and international exposure. The position is responsible for coordinating internship placements, guiding students in preparing documentation for both domestic and international opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with industry partners, guardians, and academic stakeholders.

This role ensures that the Career Development Center aligns with GATE’s mission of nurturing globally competent professionals in tourism and hospitality through experiential learning and professional engagement.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the CDC Officer include, but are not limited to:

Provide individual and group guidance to students regarding career planning, internships, and job placements.
Assist students with preparing resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation.
Support students in compiling and submitting required documentation for internship or exchange programs.
Ensure proper record-keeping of student progress, internship tracking, and placement outcomes.
Coordinate with international and national partner institutions and organizations to facilitate student exchange, internship, and collaborative programs.
Assist in maintaining communication and reporting requirements with international and industry partners.
Maintain regular and professional communication with industry partners, employers, and internship supervisors.
Build and sustain a positive relationship with student guardians by providing timely updates and guidance.
Handle inquiries and provide support to external clients or organizations related to career and placement matters.
Maintain departmental documentation, reports, and student records in accordance with GATE standards.
Prepare and submit regular updates to the Director of International Relations and Academic Dean.

Working Relationships

Internal: Students, faculty members, and administrative departments.
External: Partner institutions, employers, guardians, and professional organizations.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Education, or related field from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in academic coordination, student career services, or international relations (experience in the education or hospitality sector preferred).

Skills Required:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
Proficiency in digital communication and reporting tools (MS Office, Google Workspace, or equivalent).
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain professionalism in high-engagement environments.
Culturally aware and able to work effectively with diverse student and partner groups.
