KOSHISH is a non-governmental self-help organization registered in District Administration Office, Kathmandu in 2008 and affiliated with Social Welfare Council. KOSHISH is a right-based organization working extensively in advocacy in and multi-disciplinary and holistic mental health and psychosocial support in Nepal. In addition, KOSHISH is also working in system strengthening and creating a model that the government and other stakeholders may able to replicate.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology / Social Work with Psychology as major / PGD in Counseling Psychology / Humanities & social science with  counseling training
  • At least 2 years of experience in working with communities.
  • Practical counseling skills with good understanding of mental health and psychosocial support.
  • Must have sensitivity of the issue on mental health condition and suicide prevention.
  • Knowledge of social dynamics and in mobilizing local resources.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience of organizing advocacy and awareness campaigns.
  • Must have skills on developing public relation and community facilitation.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and in a team
  • Proactive and result oriented
  • Empathetic, Energetic and with Learning attitude
  • Preference will be given to the candidates of the local area.

Job Description

Advocacy and Lobby: 

  • Lead the advocacy related activities planning and execution jointly with project team and local stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage the data and information of outcome of advocacy and campaign
  • Work & support with local government, disabled people organization and other likeminded organization for suicide prevention initiatives
  • Planning and organizing sensitization and awareness campaigns at the communities
  • To work on DE-stigmatization and sensitization through media mobilization

Psychosocial support service: 

  • Provide psychosocial counseling, referral or link for support to the persons who are in need.
  • Facilitate community orientations.

Communication and Documentation: 

  • Support to develop and produce various IEC materials
  • Collect the stories, write up and share to organization and like minded stakeholders
  • Communicate & linkages among related stakeholders to accelerate avenue and synergy for the cause
  • Document and share the good practices and learning of the project jointly with project coordinator
  • Follow up of the commitments from local level stakeholders
  • Prepare and submit periodic and event reports

Capacity building and team mobilization

  • Develop/design, and contribute to build the skills and knowledge of project team, sub-ordinate 
  • Support subordinate to execute project intervention

Salary: 41,000 in Gross
