Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Officer (IT Company) 
Reports To: Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic business opportunities that will enhance the company's presence in the IT market. The role requires a thorough understanding of IT products, services, and market trends, as well as strong skills in networking, relationship management, and sales.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting:

  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation.
  • Develop a pipeline of potential clients and maintain strong relationships with them.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to explore opportunities.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Understand client needs and propose appropriate IT solutions to meet their business goals.
  • Provide regular follow-up and after-sales support to ensure client satisfaction.

3. Sales & Negotiations:

  • Present and demonstrate the company’s IT products and services to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
  • Close sales deals and ensure the timely delivery of IT solutions.

4. Market Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
  • Analyze market data to inform business strategies and identify potential areas of growth.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns that align with business development goals.

5. Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Work with senior management to develop business development strategies and goals.
  • Implement action plans for growing the company’s market share in target sectors.
  • Evaluate and prioritize opportunities based on potential ROI.

6. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Work closely with the technical and project management teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide feedback from clients to the product development team to guide future enhancements.

7. Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales forecasts, and progress toward targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, deals closed, and opportunities pursued.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the IT industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of IT solutions, software, hardware, cloud services, and digital transformation trends.
  • Sales Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex IT solutions clearly.
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and partners.
  • Analytical Ability: Proficient in analyzing market trends, competitive landscape, and sales data.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and client accounts simultaneously.
