SMEC has operated in Nepal since 1968. SMEC’s first project in Nepal was the 300 MW Karnali Hydropower Project. SMEC provided project planning services and undertook feasibility studies on the project.

Since then, SMEC has worked on a range of projects throughout Nepal including: a water resources and energy training program on behalf of the Government of Nepal; Rasuwagadhi Hydroelectric Project; Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Transport Project; and the Sanjen (Upper) and Sanjen Hydroelectric Project located approximately 160 km north of Kathmandu.

More recently, SMEC has been awarded a contract by the Government of Nepal’s Department of Electricity Development to provide detailed engineering designs and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) on the 20 MW Budhi Ganga Hydropower Project.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Business Development (BD) Manager for SMEC International Pty Ltd.-Nepal.

Duties include the following:

Understanding and Monitoring donor pipelines for projects and programs, and work to be tendered to international organizations.
Support in pursuit of contract opportunities.
Assist to ensure compliance with internal pursuit procedures and coordinating for necessary approvals.
Assist and coordinate in preparation of expression of interest/concept notes and Proposal to clients for Tender.
Maintain / Update database of client, consultants, partner and competitors.
Support in identification and building relationships with national and international potential consultants and partners.
Professionally represent the organization at project specific events/ meetings
Support and contribute to the development of effective processes, standards, templates, tools and systems which support business development.
Assist with required logistics and administrative task for contract pursuit and delivery

Qualification:

Qualification: Master’s Degree in Management or any other discipline with 5 years’ experience
Subject relevant experience required is 10 years
