Job Description

Reports to: Administrative Manager /Construction Engineer Head

Job Purpose:

To ensure the proper functioning, upkeep, and safety of the college’s newly built building by supervising all maintenance activities, addressing classroom and bathroom-related issues promptly, coordinating with vendors/contractors, and maintaining systematic records.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Operations & Inspection

  • Conduct daily checks of classrooms, bathrooms, stairways, and utility areas to identify and address issues.
  • Ensure cleanliness, lighting, ventilation, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Monitor building systems including plumbing, electrical, elevator, fire safety, and generator functions.

2. Maintenance Supervision

  • Supervise maintenance staff and technicians (internal or outsourced).
  • Handle minor repairs or escalate for technical support as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and AMC activities.

3. Issue Handling

  • Respond to complaints or reports of facility issues from staff and students promptly.
  • Prioritize urgent problems (e.g., water leakage, non-functional toilets, AC failure, etc.).

4. Vendor & AMC Coordination

  • Liaise with AMC vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs and scheduled servicing.
  • Ensure service quality and verify completion of work before approval.

5. Record-Keeping & Reporting

  • Maintain logs of maintenance tasks, complaints, repairs, and inspections.
  • Prepare periodic reports on building condition, completed work, and pending issues.
  • Keep digital/physical records of AMC agreements, service schedules, and warranties.
  • Monitor usage and availability of maintenance supplies and tools.

7. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and emergency preparedness (fire safety, exits, signage).
  • Report structural concerns or hazards to management immediately.
