Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Electrical / Biomedical Equipment Engineer (Diploma) will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment and digital healthcare devices. The role also involves supporting healthcare professionals with technical guidance, maintaining compliance with medical safety standards, and assisting with hardware, software, and networking-related technical issues associated with biomedical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, set up, calibrate, and configure medical equipment including X-ray machines, digital X-rays, ultrasound machines, ECG monitors, C-arms, TMT systems, and Holter monitors.
Ensure all medical equipment meets operational standards and complies with healthcare safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain biomedical and digital medical equipment with accuracy and safety.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspection of medical devices to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Assist healthcare professionals by explaining technical information regarding equipment operation, usage, and safety procedures.
Provide technical guidance and training to medical staff on the proper use and handling of medical equipment when required.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to maintenance activities, repairs, technical issues, and equipment history.
Ensure compliance with medical safety standards, technical protocols, and healthcare regulations while reporting critical issues promptly to management.
Resolve hardware, software, and networking-related issues associated with digital medical equipment and healthcare systems.
Coordinate with vendors, technical teams, and management for technical support and equipment servicing when necessary.
Support installation and servicing activities both inside and outside Kathmandu Valley as required.
Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and high-quality technical support within healthcare environments.

Other Specification

A Diploma or degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related technical field is preferable.
IT support or networking certifications are highly beneficial, especially for roles involving digital medical equipment.
Strong familiarity with computer hardware, software troubleshooting, and basic networking.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with medical devices such as X-ray machines, ultrasound machines, ECG, patient monitors, C-arm, TMT, and Holter monitors.
Proficiency in English for understanding technical manuals, communicating with staff, and accurately documenting reports.
Ability to diagnose and resolve issues precisely, ensuring equipment reliability and accuracy.
Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical medical staff.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards in a healthcare setting.
