Bike Mechanic Job Description

Responsibilities for bike mechanic

• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all rental mountain bikes, and that of the guest 
• Tracking of bike maintenance 
• Support customers by helping them select relevant products and answering bike questions 
• Responsible for continued maintenance of mountain bike rental fleet, especially working Fox and Rockshox suspensions 
• Help with bike rentals when needed 
• Work with bike technicians to ensure safety of all bike rentals 
• Ability to complete required paperwork in an accurate and legible manor 
• Ability to adhere to all safety policies and procedures 
• Maintaining a safe rental fleet 
• Mechanic will teach workshops and provide assistance to people in the Bike Shop during open hours 

Qualifications for bike mechanic 

• Must be able to bleed a mountain bike hydraulic disc brake 
• Previous experience specifically working with Rockshox and Fox suspensions required (suspension forks/spring shocks) 
• At least two years of management experience in ski/snowboard/bike industry 
• Be confident with managing guest expectations and aware of what solutions are available to ensure satisfactory service recovery 
• Good IT and communication skills are essential 
• Able to stand through most of shift
