Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong foundation in audit, accounting, taxation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have practical exposure to audit assignments, sound knowledge of NFRSs and Nepalese tax laws, strong analytical and communication skills, and a willingness to learn, take responsibility, and work closely with clients and the audit team.

Key Responsibilities

Execute statutory and internal audit assignments in accordance with applicable standards and firm methodology.
Assist in planning audits, identifying key risk areas, and developing appropriate audit procedures.
Perform substantive and control testing and evaluate audit evidence.
Prepare working papers, audit findings, management letters, and other deliverables.
Review financial statements for compliance with NFRSs and applicable legal requirements.
Assist in tax, due diligence, financial analysis, and other advisory assignments.
Communicate effectively with clients and obtain necessary information and explanations.
Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and areas for operational improvement.
Coordinate with seniors and managers to ensure timely completion of assignments.
Maintain professional standards, confidentiality, and quality of work.

Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN).

The ideal candidate should have:

Relevant experience in audit and assurance assignments, preferably with exposure to various industries and sectors in Nepal.
Hands-on experience in Internal Audit, including planning, execution, risk assessment, internal control evaluation, and preparation of audit reports.
Sound knowledge and practical exposure to Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRSs) and applicable accounting principles.
Experience in Statutory Audit / Financial Statement Audit and preparation/review of financial statements.
Understanding of Nepalese tax laws, including Income Tax and VAT, with practical exposure to tax-related matters.
Ability to understand and evaluate internal controls, business processes, and risk areas.
Exposure to due diligence, financial analysis, projections, valuation, or other advisory assignments will be an added advantage.
Good understanding of Companies Act, applicable regulatory requirements, ICAN standards, and other relevant laws and regulations of Nepal.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and commonly used accounting/audit software.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Strong communication skills and professional attitude.
Willingness to travel for audit and client assignments when required.
