Job Description

An Assistant Trainee Counselor in an educational consultancy supports the counseling team by assisting students with their educational and career planning, guiding them through the application process, and performing administrative tasks. This role is essential for gaining hands-on experience in educational counseling and developing skills for a future career in this field.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support and Counseling:

  • Assist senior counselors in providing personalized guidance to students regarding course and university selection.
  • Conduct initial consultations to understand students' educational backgrounds, interests, and career aspirations.
  • Help students identify suitable academic programs and institutions based on their profiles and goals.

Application Process Assistance:

  • Aid students in completing application forms accurately and meeting submission deadlines.
  • Guide students in preparing necessary documentation, including transcripts, recommendation letters, and personal statements.
  • Provide support in preparing for standardized tests, such as TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, and others.

Information and Resource Provision:

  • Provide up-to-date information on various educational programs, universities, and admission requirements.
  • Assist in researching and compiling resources on scholarship opportunities, financial aid, and visa procedures.
  • Develop informational materials and handouts for students and parents.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, application statuses, and follow-up activities in the CRM system.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for students with senior counselors.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating workshops, seminars, and other informational events.

Communication and Follow-Up:

  • Respond promptly to student inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.
  • Follow up with students to ensure they are on track with their application process and deadlines.
  • Liaise with universities and colleges to gather information and clarify admission requirements.

Event Participation and Outreach:

  • Participate in educational fairs, school visits, and community outreach programs to promote consultancy services.
  • Assist in setting up and managing promotional booths at events.
  • Help organize webinars and virtual information sessions for prospective students.

Professional Development:

  • Attend training sessions and workshops to improve counseling skills and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Collaborate with senior counselors to learn best practices in educational counseling.
