Position: Assistant Specialist – RAFM

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Data Extraction & Analysis

  • Utilize SQL to extract data from various sources including relational databases and data warehouses. Execute complex queries involving joins, aggregations, and filters to support analysis and risk assessments.

Data Loading & Transformation

  • Use SQL scripts and ETL tools to load structured and unstructured data into internal systems. Transform raw data into clean, analyzable formats to support accurate risk modeling and dashboard reporting

Data Detention & Retention

  • Identify and stage suspicious records for investigation. Ensure compliance with data retention policies

Fraud Detection & Investigation

  • Analyze transactional and behavioral data patterns to support detection of fraud types such as Flash Calls, SMS/Voice SIM Box, social engineering, IRSF, etc. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate anomalies and recommend mitigation strategies.

Automation of Control

  • Enhancing RAFM team’s efficiency through the automation of Revenue Assurance and fraud management controls using specialized tools and various programming skills like Python, Excel, SQL, Power BI/ Tableau.

System Reconciliation

  • Reconcile data across multiple systems to safeguard against revenue leakages, uncover possible fraud, and maintain data consistency.

Product Data Validation for Revenue Sharing

  • Extract and validate product data to ensure accurate revenue-sharing calculations by thoroughly reviewing the corresponding contracts

Commission Structure Analysis

  • Assist in analyzing and validating commission structures and their corresponding payouts.

Reporting

  • Reports on KPIs of various RAFM, product or other ad hoc trends including detailed analysis of loss events, root causes and financial impact to support proactive decision-making and mitigation strategies.

Revenue Assurance Audits

  • Conduct periodic end-to-end revenue assurance audits across services such as Voice, Data, DVAS, Enterprise, HLR, provisioning, etc to identify hidden or evolving revenue risks.

Cost-Benefit Analysis & Reporting

  • On an ad hoc basis support in providing insights to management on cost-benefit analyses, service performance, and the status of various promotions, campaigns, and initiatives.

Risk Identification & Control

  • Evaluate operational, financial, and technology-related risks from RAFM perspective across business functions on a semi-annual to annual basis, depending on risk level. For all high and medium risks, collaborate with RAFM and cross-functional teams to develop appropriate controls.

Product Testing & Configuration Monitoring

  • Ensure support in POD review, thorough testing and correct configuration of products, services, and promotions before and after market launch. Coordinate tariff testing in collaboration with relevant teams.

Availability During Critical Incidents

  • Be available to work beyond regular office hours as needed to address leakages or fraud-related incidents.

Support in various task including analytics within RAFM team

  • Assist in delivering structured data for diverse analyses such as commission validation, Revenue share validation, sales commission calculations, work flow design, documentation, support in developing various procedure, Margin difference, Hold SIM, rating validations, fraud detection, cost benefit analysis among others.

Continuous Learning & Intelligence Gathering

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging threats in Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management. Work with the team to expand knowledge into new risk domains.
Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in management, information management, information technology, computer application or similar technology degree.
  • Experience in the similar field will be preferred
  • Experience in SQL, data extraction, and working in big data platform will be an added advantage

Profile

  • Knowledge of telecom fraud and / or Revenue Assurance discipline
  • Good knowledge in Python, Excel, SQL, Power BI/ Tableau and other analytical tools
  • Strong analytical skills, eyes for details, degree of skepticism and decision-making abilities
  • Audit mindset including critical thinking, attention to detail, skepticism, integrity, curiosity, objectivity, persistence, analytical reasoning
  • Good negotiation, interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Flexibility, innovative, quality oriented, attentiveness and problem solving
  • Reviews situations or problems related to the work and presents all perspectives clearly for analysis
  • Reviews and recommends new solutions or techniques to improve work output
  • Try to review links beyond own work area
  • Seeking to learn more about other parts of the unit, or function
  • Proactively seeks out customers' input to obtain feedback on performance
  • Effectively communicates with others to obtain needed information or support
  • Adapt rules or recommend alterations in normal procedures to get a job done well

Duty Station:
Kathmandu but can be placed anywhere in Nepal as per business needs or future requirements.
