Location: Field-based (Myagdi and Mustang Districts)
Role Type: Field Research

We are seeking a highly motivated, resilient, and detail-oriented Assistant Researcher to join our team. This role bridges the gap between rigorous academic research and ground-level realities. The successful candidate will travel to the remote, high-altitude terrains of Myagdi and Mustang to gather critical primary data, while also utilizing strong academic frameworks to analyze findings and produce high-quality reports. Key Responsibilities

1. Field Data Collection

Conduct Household Surveys, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with local communities in Myagdi and Mustang.
Accurately record answers during surveys and assist researcher team in capturing high-quality audio, video, and photographic documentation.
Efficiently map route locations to ensure safe and timely field travel in geographically challenging areas.

2. Data Management

Utilize Kobo Toolbox for real-time digital data entry and database management.
Transcribe field interviews accurately and translate qualitative data (responses given by villagers) from Nepali to English without losing contextual meaning.
Analyze complex data and academic literature, spotting key trends to assist the lead researcher in drafting clear policy briefs and baseline reports.
Create basic data visualizations (charts, graphs, and maps) to explain findings clearly.

3. Coordination & Team Support

Work closely and coordinate seamlessly with the Field Coordinator to execute daily fieldwork plans.
Act as a supportive team player, assisting fellow assistant researchers with documentation tasks.
Use digital devices efficiently in the field to maximize output and ensure data is securely stored.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Final-semester Bachelor’s student or currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, or a related social science. A strong academic record is highly preferred.
Research Training: Must have completed courses in Research Methodology (qualitative or quantitative) and possess a strong understanding of how to design a basic research plan.
Data Sourcing: Proven ability to gather reliable data from primary sources (field interviews, official government statements, treaties) and secondary sources (academic journals, industry reports).
Technical Literacy: Proficient in searching academic databases (e.g., JSTOR, Google Scholar) and managing citations/references. Skilled at open-source research.
Prior experience in research and field data collection
