Essential Requirements/Competencies
Graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication or equivalent with relevant experience in a broadcast environment.
At least two years of experience as a radio/TV/news portal reporter at local, regional or national level. A good background in Nepali and International current affairs as well as British Gurkha military history will be a distinct advantage.
Excellent broadcasting voice and good reporting skills with the ability to perform with flair and creativity on all platforms.
Must be able to identify news stories.
Must have skills and experience gained within a newsroom environment; reporting, writing, editing, and reading news bulletins, with a good knowledge of new media.
Must have a strong command of both written and spoken English and Nepali.
Must be able to work under pressure and take direction from the news desk editors.
Willing to work shifts, including overnights.
Job Description
Work as part of the news team in Kathmandu, responsible for delivering hourly radio news bulletins.
Carry out necessary tasks to ensure radio, video, online and social media content is produced to the required standards.
Produce and present radio interviews.
Readiness for live reporting and field visits.
Ready to work shifts including weekends, public holidays and nights.
