Job Description

Position Overview:

The Assistant Procurement and Logistics Manager supports the Procurement & Logistics Manager in executing procurement and logistics strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing, supplier management, and efficient supply chain operations. This role involves sourcing vendors (both local and international), optimizing logistics processes, managing inventory, and ensuring seamless order fulfilment.

It is essential that the candidate has experience in sourcing vendors from outside Nepal, either through secondary research or trade show visits, and has prior experience in selecting international vendors. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, supply chain knowledge, and the ability to drive process improvements while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.

  • Reports to: Procurement & Logistics Manager
  • Location: Birtamod, Jhapa, Nepal
  • Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 05:00 PM), Sunday to Friday

Roles and Responsibilities

Procurement Support:

  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies for cost-effective purchasing.
  • Identify and evaluate local and international suppliers through secondary research and trade shows.
  • Support in negotiating contracts, agreements, and pricing with vendors.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply trends.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies to support production and operations.
  • Source vendors from outside Nepal and manage international supplier selection.

Logistics & Inventory Management:

  • Assist in managing end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation and warehousing.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to quality standards.
  • Optimize shipping routes to minimize costs and improve efficiency.
  • Support in inventory management, ensuring stock availability and compliance with storage standards.
  • Assist in developing contingency plans for supply chain disruptions. 
  • Order Fulfilment & Coordination:
  • Oversee order processing, packaging, and dispatch for timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Monitor and analyse fulfilment performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to align fulfilment activities with business needs.
  • Address and resolve any fulfilment-related issues or complaints promptly.

Team Collaboration & Process Improvement:

  • Support the Procurement & Logistics Manager in leading and mentoring the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve procurement and logistics efficiency.
  • Assist in training junior staff on procurement and logistics best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and suggest process improvements.
