The role will offer the chance to work closely underneath one of the partners, where you will be responsible for a varied portfolio of clients including small to medium enterprises, owner managed business’s and charities. This is an excellent opportunity for any accountant at Senior level looking to make the step up and take on more responsibility and be fast tracked into management. The ideal candidate for this Assistant Manager role will have excellent wealth of UK based accountancy practice experience. 

  • Have a minimum of 2 years' of accounting practice experience
  • Be qualified with ACCA/CPA/CA/MBA or qualified by experience
  • It is desirable that the ideal candidate has existing knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (FRS 102, including section 1A, and FRS 105), and UK taxation matters (including corporation tax and self-assessment). They should also have excellent IT skills and experience of using accounting packages including Iris, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
  • They must be highly personable and confident with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate must also have the ability to work to deadlines under pressure and be dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated

Job Description

  • Preparing statutory annual accounts, management accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, charities, trusts etc
  • Preparing tax computations and filing returns, including corporation tax and personal tax returns 
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Preparing audit documents, and assisting in review engagements
  • Planning and completing assignments to a high standard of technical competence and within deadlines
  • Assisting the portfolio manager & partner to achieve deadlines
  • Regularly dealing with clients in the UK to achieve efficiency through effective communication
  • To undertake smaller and medium sized assignments independently or assist in larger assignments reporting to a Manager or Senior Manager
  • Maintaining technical competence
