All the work would be for the UK and international clients. You will have to work closely with our team in London and clients based in the UK and various countries around the globe. So, you will get exceptional international exposure.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will primarily work to assist the line manager in managing the team and lead on technical matters related to tax implications of various transactions involving land and property in the UK. As part of the role, the candidate will perform the following duties, among others.

  • Direct and manage required information and conduct legal research on UK Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT), inheritance tax (IHT), trust laws and regulations
  • Maintain tax laws database with current tax laws and regulations of the UK
  • Develop and implement new SDLT, IHT related products
  • Analyse the SDLT and IHT implications of various transactions involving UK land and property
  • Handle correspondence with clients and work closely with the client advisory and relationship department
  • Draft/review SDLT return, tax advice reports and SDLT rebate claims
  • Write/review articles, summaries, case briefs, and other knowledge products in the UK SDLT, IHT, and trust regime
  • Liaise with clients, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and other relevant parties on SDLT matters
  • Manage and maintain database, tracking systems and daily record keeping for SDLT compliance and reporting
  • Provide training to relevant teams and colleagues on the SDLT, IHT issues
  • Perform other duties related to the role as assigned by the line manager
