Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Librarian to join our General Faculty team. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, a passion for books and learning, and the ability to assist in managing the school library’s resources while supporting students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management and operation of the school library.
  • Organize and maintain library resources, including books, journals, and digital media.
  • Assist students and staff in locating and using library materials effectively.
  • Support library programs and promote reading and literacy across the school.
  • Catalog and classify new library materials, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Maintain library records and assist with circulation, including issuing and returning books.
  • Assist with library-related events, such as book fairs, reading programs, and educational workshops.
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff in the library.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Management, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in a library setting, preferably in an educational environment.
Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of library software and cataloging systems.
  • Ability to assist students with research and reading needs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for books, reading, and promoting educational resources.
