Herb Nepal is an award winning organic herb farm and learning space, based in Ashapuri, Bhaktapur. Herb Nepal works with small-scale rural farmers to grow organic and sustainable herbal crops which are used in our own soap products. 

At the farm we have visitor events and accommodation called The Farm Stays which support the running of the farm.

For the Farm Stays, we are seeking an Assistant Hospitality Manager that can deliver outstanding customer care, motivate and energise a staff team while increasing the revenue potential of the farm stays. 

You will be an outstanding team player, able to build respectful relationships with your team mates while working independently using your own initiative.

Excellent Nepali and English language skills (spoken and written) are essential for the role. Interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people from around the world is vital.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduates with degrees in travel, tourism, leisure are especially encouraged to apply
  • Minimum of one year experience in the hospitality, tourism and travel sector (Essential)
  • Minimum of one year supervisory or team leader experience with basic knowledge of HR, Finance and Resource management
  • Experience in farming/ agriculture work is an advantage  
  • Experience in food and catering is an advantage 
  • Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English (written and spoken)
  • Able to confidently communicate to a wide variety of international and national customers
  • Outstanding customer service skills 
  • Excellent financial recording skills i.e writing guest invoices and managing a budget.

Job Description

The post holder will be the first point of contact for all guests ensuring they have an unforgettable experience. This job role has full responsibility for organising food, beverages, housekeeping and farm activities. You will supervise and work closely with the Ashapuri based team to ensure the customer experience remains central to what we do while maximising revenue potential. 

This position supervises and works closely with four team members so the ability to build positive and respectful relationships is paramount. 

Reports to: Senior Manager

Tasks and responsibility include: 

  • Necessary to stay overnight at the farm during guest visits 
  • Supervising staff (including farm staff)
  • Preparing for visitor arrivals 
  • Forming excellent rapport with guests 
  • Managing budgets
  • ‘Walk the floor’ ensure all guest touch points are well maintained
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained to an excellent standard 
  • Undertaking day-to-day centre management and administration
  • Liaising with local businesses and the media
  • Developing and creating farm-related activities 
  • To work closely with the senior managers in Herb Nepal 
  • To act as a focal person for visitors to Herb Nepal
  • To support the sales, production and processing of herbal products
  • To promote the values of Herb Nepal 
  • To complete other tasks as required by the organisation

Please note part-time salary is pro-rata.
