Hotel Butsugen, a boutique hotel located in Boudha near the Stupa, is looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Assistant Desk Manager to support the General Manager in daily hotel operations.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone interested in building a career in hospitality, with on-the-job training and the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position. College students are also welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with front-desk and day-to-day hotel operations under the supervision of the General Manager.
Provide friendly and professional guest care and support.
Handle guest inquiries and communications through online platforms.
Assist with reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and other front-desk activities.
Support social media and online communication activities.
Coordinate with hotel staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Maintain accurate records and assist with other administrative tasks as required.
Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Higher Secondary (+2/A Levels/IB)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Strong spoken and written English skills.
Basic to good computer and social media skills.
Friendly, professional, and positive personality with a guest-oriented approach.

Hotel Butsugen was lovingly completed in 2017 by its owners, Diki and Chetan Sherpa, on the site of their former home, which had been destroyed in the 2015 earthquake. They attended to every fine detail, wanting to build a boutique hotel as a legacy to be handed down in their family for generations.

The hotel is a self-contained oasis of security and elegance, yet only 5 minutes’ walk from the Bodhanath Stupa. The Sherpa family has built a sanctuary that has garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews and an extremely loyal clientele who return again and again.

Having worked day and night for eight years to foster the hotel through its infancy and youth, the owners have now entrusted their legacy and the hotel operations to BWI Hotel Properties, a group headed by Tulku Sherdor Rinpoche, and thus the Hotel Butsugen has entered a new and exciting phase, while remaining true to its owners’ legacy and vision and to their dedication to client service.
