  • Ability to multitask, proactively resolve issues, and manage different aspects of projects simultaneously.
  • Strong computer and other related technology skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google applications, PCs, and Macs.
  • Good English communication and coordination skills (both written and verbal).
  • Experience working in multi-team projects and grants is a plus.
  • Experience or familiarity with grant writing and fundraising research is a plus.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation is an advantage.

Job Description

Archive Nepal is a non-profit dedicated to preserving Nepal’s rich historical and cultural materials by digitizing and centralizing access to archives that are often scattered across multiple institutions. We work to make these resources freely accessible, ensuring that Nepal’s history remains a shared and living part of our society.  

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Archive Lead to work directly and report to the Executive Director to support the smooth execution of our projects. This role requires strong coordination, communication, and research skills to help manage ongoing initiatives, find new opportunities, and maintain Archive Nepal’s active presence in Nepal.  

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination & Administration :

  • Work closely with the Nepal Operations Director to help run ongoing and new projects.  
  • Keep track of grant deadlines, research new funding opportunities, and assist in preparing grant applications.  
  • Follow up with clients regarding digitization projects, ensuring smooth project execution and client satisfaction.  
  • Find potential leads for collaboration with institutions, researchers, and cultural organizations. 
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.  
  • Coordinate application and project evaluation process with the Social Welfare Council for project approval and closing, and other government agencies as needed.

Team & Office Coordination : 

  • Coordinate with the Archive Assistant, Outreach Manager, and other teams to stay updated on their work and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Attend and actively contribute to weekly team meetings at Archive Nepal.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the Nepal office and the US Archive Nepal office, ensuring smooth communication and workflow.  
  • Maintain a physical presence at our New Road office, helping establish Archive Nepal as an accessible and active organization in Nepal.  

Communications & Outreach : 

  • Work on Archive Nepal’s Substack as needed to share updates and insights about our work.
  • Assist with social media management when required, ensuring Archive Nepal’s activities are shared effectively.  

Working Conditions:

  • This role is primarily in-person at our New Road, Kathmandu office to ensure Archive Nepal maintains a strong physical presence.  
  • Some travel within the valley and outside may be required based on events and project tasks.
  • Some flexibility in work hours depending on project needs and events.
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contribute to Nepal’s cultural preservation efforts. 
  • Five working days.
