ISAP is a non-for-profit organization established in 2013 with the goal of catalyzing prosperity of resource-poor people. We believe that people are held back by various constraints such as lack of skills, social-capital, access to resources, quality educational opportunities, basic services (eg water supply). By unshackling them from their constrains, we hope to catalyze their development process enabling them to exploit other resources and opportunities consequently enhancing their standard of living.

ISAP is led by a young team in their late twenties striving to innovate the way development sector works in Nepal. Currently, we are working to improve the agriculture income of about 450 farmers living in the Chautara-Dolalghat road corridor through fresh vegetable production and marketing through a JICA funded project. In 18 months, we raised the income of farmers by 61%. We are constructing 13 gravity flow water supply systems, researching on cognitive ability of illiterate population in partnership with a professor from Harvard University, conducting design thinking workshops with Lingnan Univeristy (HK).

About the Position

ISAP is currently looking for suitable candidate for Agriculture Associate who would be providing technical assistance to several agriculture projects ISAP is currently implementing. The ideal candidate should have Bachelors in Agriculture with one year of prior experience in relevant field. S/he would be supporting agriculture team for successful implementation of ongoing projects. The contract period is for six month with possibility of extension.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Support for successful implementation of existing and new agriculture projects executed by ISAP
Assist M&E of ongoing agriculture projects
Assist in need assessment survey, baseline survey/end-line survey or any survey as required during project implementation
Facilitate technical training and workshop for the beneficiaries
Conduct regular field visit to provide technical assistance to farmers
Support the project team for preparation of various reports

Required Qualification and Experience

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture
0-2 years of experience preferably in horticulture or aquaculture extension service
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with community and coordination of all sub-sector staff
Basic knowledge in computer (MS word, excel and power-point)
Ability to work in multiple concurrent tasks
Keen to explore and learn new skills
Excellent English and Nepali language (oral and written)
Ability to work independently
