KOSHISH is a non-governmental self-help organization registered in District Administration Office, Kathmandu in 2008 and affiliated with Social Welfare Council. KOSHISH is a right-based organization working extensively in advocacy in and multi-disciplinary and holistic mental health and psychosocial support in Nepal. In addition, KOSHISH is also working in system strengthening and creating a model that the government and other stakeholders may able to replicate.

  • Good understanding of human rights-based approach and familiarity with core International Human Rights Treaties including the UNCRPD, CEDAW and CRC. 
  • Understanding and experience of working in public health issues (including mental health) or disability (including psychosocial disability).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation & public relation skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and in a team for bringing the concrete results. 
  • Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of the projects.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel etc.
  • Empathetic, Energetic with receptive learning attitude.

Job Description

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of laws, programs, policies and regulations related to mental health and psychosocial disability at the Provincial and Local Level. 
  • Communicate and lobby with government authorities and concerned stakeholders, organize events and make linkages to accelerate avenues and synergies in the sector of mental health and psychosocial disability.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to highlight the issues of mental health and psychosocial disability.
  • Develop advocacy letters on pertinent issues relating to mental health and psychosocial disability and form delegations to stakeholders
  • Follow up with government authorities and other concerned stakeholders
  • Field visit in the existing target area of the KOSHISH and collect evidences that reflects content and local context
  • Organize activities set forth by the organization in the target areas within time specified
  • To work on de-stigmatization and sensitization through media mobilization
  • Support to develop Information Education and Communication materials 
  • Support in preparation of annual, semi-annual, periodic and event reports
