Other Specification
  • Master’s degree in management or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience or a bachelor’s degree in management with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based digital accounting software is preferable.
  • Excellent computer literacy of MS Office including Word, Excel and Powerpint etc. for financial management, monitoring database, presentation and report-writing etc.
  • Independent, flexible, highly motivated and able to deliver high quality work with limited supervision.

Additional Required Skills:

  • Excellent typing skills in Nepali and English. 
  • Working knowledge on latest GoN tax compliances. 
  • Working knowledge on TDS, VAT and all other taxes applicable for non-government organizations in Nepal.  
  • Be able to anticipate and solve problems in your own area of work.  
  • Good communication, coordination and teamwork. 
  • Flexible to visit field as and when necessary
  • Event facilitation, logistics and management skills
  • Ability to write, read and analyze project reports accurately and summarize to supervisors and board members as needed. 
  • The Admin and Finance Officer will report to the Executive Director or the MS Chair.                          

Job Description

Duration of Appointment: 1 year with the possibility of extension subject to performance and availability of fund
Probationary Period:  3 months of service
Language Required: English and Nepali
Expected Starting Date: As soon as possible

Mountain Spirit is hiring an Admin and Finance Officer. Duties and Responsibilities of Admin and Finance Officer are as follows:

  • Keeping track of the day-to-day admin and finance functions.
  • Review and maintain account book keeping as per MS financial policy and procedures.
  • Review all supporting documents of all the vouchers and ensure they are in line with the approved budget as well as deliverables.
  • Make cash and bank deposits.
  • Complete bank reconciliation on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain financial records and files.
  • Collect information and documentation related to finance, administration, and logistics.
  • Prepare monthly, six-monthly and annual financial reports, including for donors, and also fund requests as per need.
  • Assist auditors in carrying out internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate with Inland Revenue Office and Bank for financial and all tax related matters ensuring that no penalties are incurred.
  • Manage personal files and leave records of staff.
  • Support in documentation and procurement processes.
  • Undertake field visits as and when required.
  • Maintain assets register for office equipment and furnishings.
  • Support the administrative works including but not limited to the Organizational renewals, seeking official approvals, delivering letters and other items to the targets etc.
  • Provide logistic arrangements for organizing events inside or outside of office.
  • Maintain the store and keep track of the records of the stocks received and disbursed.
  • Provide necessary administration and financial management related support to all MS projects and core activities as per agreed plan
  • Take minutes at the Executive meetings and proper record keeping. 
  • Ensure that all activities comply with MS policies and principals. 
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned as per the requirements.
