RPN aims to support government agencies and related organization to protect wildlife and biodiversity of Nepal. We use an integrated, landscape-level approach to conservation that is built on the support and participation of local communities. It envisions to work in all red panda range districts in Nepal to replicate the community-based conservation approach. The approach is rooted in communities and hopes to create lasting benefits for red pandas and people living around the habitat.

Salary: Negotiable
Duration of Initial Contract: 1 year
Expected Duration of Position: 1 year with the possibility of extension

Job Summary:
The Admin and Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing assistance in overall financial management, including bookkeeping, maintenance of financial records, and administrative, operational, and logistics support to the project team for the effective running of project activities.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support the Finance and Admin Officer in keeping track of the day-to-day finances
  • Review vouchers of RPN Nepal’s partner NGOs
  • Review all the supporting documents of the vouchers to ensure they are justifiable and in line with the approved budget
  • Make cash and bank deposits
  • Complete bank reconciliation on a monthly basis
  • Maintain financial records and files
  • Collect information and documentation related to finance, administration, and logistics
  • Assist auditors in carrying out internal and external audits
  • Maintain liaison with Citizen Investment Trust, Inland Revenue Office, and Bank for depositing the amount
  • Manage personal files and leave records of staff
  • Support in documentation and procurement processes
  • Field visits to partner NGOs as and when required
  • Support in other admin-related office work assigned by Finance Officer, Program
  • Manager and Executive Director
  • Maintained assets register for office equipment and furnishings.
  • Support the administrative works in the office including but not limited to the
  • Organizational renewals, seeking official approvals, delivering letters and other items to the targets, etc.
  • Provide logistic arrangements for organizing events inside or outside of the office
  • Maintain the store and keep track of the records of the stocks received and disbursed
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned as per the requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a similar field
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in the fields of administration, management, and finance
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office packages
  • Good Knowledge and fluency in both oral and written English and Nepali languages
  • Ability to work in a team and have the teamwork spirit
  • Ability to organize and complete assignments within deadline
  • Ability to work long hours if required
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • High integrity and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Capable of frequently traveling to remote locations as needed
  • Priority will be given to candidates with a valid driving license for two-wheelers
