About the job
We are looking for a part-time accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate would have a proven background in finance, strong integrity, and be familiar with accounting tools like Tally, Tigg App, and Xero.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate recording and classification of all transactions; cross-check supporting documents and file them properly with vouchers.
- Input transactions in accounting software daily.
- Analyze financial data and prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and timely, accurate filings.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations; implement audit action plans based on recommendations.
- Organize and maintain financial records for audit purposes.
- Conduct periodic account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and company policies; enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
- Monitor advances, debtors, and creditors monthly, reporting to the line manager as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
- 2 years of prior experience as an Accountant.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
- Proficient in using Tally, Tigg App and Xero software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
