Job Description

Department: Finance and Accounts
Reporting To: Account manager/Managing director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Officer to manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is integral to supporting the organization’s financial stability and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Transactions:

  • Record, verify, and reconcile financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process payments, invoices, and receipts.

General Ledger Management:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are addressed promptly.

Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, GST, and income tax filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and standards.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments to manage budgets and financial goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff if applicable.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Fresher are also recommended to apply.
  • Familiarity with financial software.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Other Attributes:

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
