M/S Hydro Energy Concern Pvt. Ltd. (HEC) is a limited liability company incorporated under Company Act 2053 of Nepal as on 2060/08/03 BS (2003/11/19 AD) with the company registration number 25906/060/61. HEC, having its registered address at Gongabu, Gongabu VDC, Ward no. 05, Kathmandu, is forerunner in micro and mini hydropower projects operating since 17 years; however, it is currently operating from Samakhusi, Kathmandu MPC, Ward no. 26, and Kathmandu.

 

HEC is an organization dedicated to the sustainable development of hydropower energy. However, it also provides the integrated support on development of various construction projects and assumes responsibilities of consulting, planning, designing, equipment delivery and installation, operations and maintenance. Presently, it is actively developing numerous Micro, Mini and Small projects in the field of hydropower in Nepal.

 

Also, HEC believes that Micro/Mini Hydro Power (MHP) can empower three inseparable pillars for sustainable development of Nepal i.e. economic development, social development and environmental development.

HEC is established by the team of professionals with an aim to add towards building private sector capacity in micro, mini and small hydropower sector. The key and dedicated resource person of the company possess a combined work experiences of over 30 years and cover a wide spectrum in designing, engineering supervisory support, quality assessment, trainings and capacity building.

 

HEC is equipped with all necessary tools and equipment to carry out works that it intends to get involved in. Apart from availability of few highly experienced professionals for full time, it has a pool of resource personnel to carry out these works on contract basis.

 

Currently, HEC has focused in 3 main areas of works. They are:

a)       On Grid Connected Hydro Plants

For On grid connected projects, HEC works with local community to ensure its completion  through active participation, which also helps in sustainable development of that area. HEC appoints the Community as one of the prime stakeholder in the project which contributes them via direct financial contribution and labor contribution.

 

b)       Isolated Grids Off Mini/Micro Hydro Plants

For Off-grid projects, HEC works closely with Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC, A Government Organization) to provide electricity to rural areas of Nepal. However, the entire system ranging from generation, transmission and distribution of power is owned and operated by the community ensuring the long term sustainability of the project after completion of construction work.

 

c)        Infrastructure Construction

The broader scope of company however is not limited to hydropower. It is committed to provide services in all kinds of infrastructure development projects as well as of renewable energy by entering through joint venture with other organizations/individuals if required.
