Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

Subject teachers are responsible for maximizing the academic progress of the students they teach, working with colleagues to participate fully in the development of the department. Subject teachers promote a positive, purposeful and professional working atmosphere that encourages co-operation and challenge, whilst valuing the contribution that individuals make to the success of the Department.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities in the classroom

  • Plan and prepare well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and the syllabus being taught
  • Track student progress, monitoring achievement against set targets and take appropriate and early action on student outcomes and under-achievement
  • Act as a role model by making your students feel motivated while maintaining an approachable personality
  • Attend college events to better understand student interest and personalities outside of the regular classroom, build strong relationships with your students and aid in the strengthening of their self-confidence while inspiring them to achieve high goals
  • Have a thorough and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of programs of study and specifications for examination courses
  • Set high expectations for all students

For Full Time faculty: 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Minimum 4 classes to maximum 5 classes from Sunday to Friday)
