Roles and responsibilities of this job

N.I.E. is seeking a creative-minded and experienced Full-Time Video Editor to join the team at N.I.E. (Nepal Institute of Engineering). The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in various forms of video production, from short-form social media content to long-form projects, and possess foundational graphic design abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing & Production

Edit and finalize a diverse range of video content, including:

Short-form content: Engaging Reels and videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms.
Long-form content: Educational videos, documentaries, interviews, and promotional materials.
Podcast videos: Multi-camera or single-camera podcast editing with clean audio-visual presentation.

Ensure all content is optimized for platform-specific formats and audience engagement.

Content Strategy & Creativity:

Contribute to creative planning and execution of video projects.
Ensure content aligns with N.I.E.’s brand tone, identity, and communication goals.
Suggest innovative ideas for social media growth and audience engagement.

Post-Production Workflow:

Manage media assets and maintain an organized file structure.
Perform color correction, audio syncing, and sound enhancement.
Export and deliver final video assets in required formats.
Ensure timely delivery of all assigned projects while maintaining high production quality.

Collaboration:

Work closely with content creators, marketing teams, and stakeholders.
Understand project requirements and deliver accordingly.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and content planning discussions.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Higher Secondary (+2/A Levels/IB)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Minimum 1 year of professional video editing experience.
Exceptionally strong portfolios may be considered even with less experience.

Technical Proficiency:

Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
Experience working in a Mac/macOS environment is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of video formats for social media platforms.

Skills:

Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A strong portfolio showcasing a range of editing styles, especially short-form/social media content.
Excellent storytelling abilities and a keen eye for visual detail, pacing, and flow.
Mindset: Must be a creative-minded individual with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.

Highly Preferred (Bonus) Skills:

Experience in camera operation, especially Sony camera systems.
Intermediate motion graphics skills (Adobe After Effects).
Basic knowledge of audio cleanup, mixing, and mastering for video/podcast production.
Experience in educational or institutional content creation will be an advantage.

Salary: Negotiable based on the candidate’s experience and skill set.
