Department: Primary Education
Job Purpose
We are seeking two (2) passionate and dedicated Primary Grade Teachers with strong written and spoken Tibetan language skills. The ideal candidates will be responsible for leading core primary-level instruction for Grade 2 and 3 students while seamlessly integrating Tibetan language learning into daily classroom routines, storytelling and cultural appreciation.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.), Humanities, Arts, or a relevant discipline. (Strong Tibetan script literacy and oral fluency are mandatory).
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of teaching experience at the primary/elementary school level (Grade 1–5).
Language Proficiency:
Tibetan: Native or near-native fluency in both writing (Sambhota script) and speaking.
English / Medium of Instruction: Fluent in written and spoken English (and local language as required by the school).
Key Competencies & Skills
Strong knowledge of primary child psychology and early literacy development techniques.
Creative storytelling and engaging instructional techniques.
High patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal communication skills for dealing with young children and parents.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-cultural faculty.

About Tergar Schools
Under the direction of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, the Tergar School Kathmandu project is the first of its kind, weaving together traditional Tibetan Buddhist principles and practices with contemporary approaches to learning. The project is supported by an international advisory board with a wealth of experience. The Tergar School Kathmandu, located in Sitapaila, Nagarjuna Rural Municipality is a non-profit boarding school, home to 82 students between the ages of 5 - 13, as well as 7 teachers, and 3 administrators. We are a trilingual school inclusive of English, Tibetan, and Nepali.
