Roles and responsibilities of this job

Overall purpose of Job

Provides quality nursing care in collaboration with health care team of the hospital for overall healing of the patients keeping in mind about vision and mission of The Leprosy Mission Nepal.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care and assist healthcare teams in delivering treatment plans.
Monitor patients' health conditions, administer medications, and record patient progress accurately.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and their families on health management and treatment plans.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
Document patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Participate in continuous education and training programs to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Other Specification

PCL Nursing Graduates from a recognized institution and Registered on Nepal Nursing Council (NNC).
A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
Strong clinical skills, including patient assessment, medication administration, and wound care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in medical documentation and record-keeping.
Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety protocols.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.

The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is a UK based international non-government organization active in 34 countries; started its work in Nepal from 1957 with establishment of Anandaban Hospital in Lele, the sourthern part of Lalitpur. However, from 2005 TLM Nepal has been working as independent NGO in partnership with TLM international and the Government of Nepal to provide specialist tertiary care and technical support for leprosy control programs. It also undertakes internationally recognized research into leprosy and implements disability inclusive community development programs through its own activities and strategic partnership.

Being one of the largest NGOs in the country working in the field of leprosy, TLM Nepal mainly focuses in working with and for people affected by leprosy. Its development interventions focuses in the areas of health, capacity building, education, sustainable livelihoods, community development, advocacy and research working towards equity and inclusion of people affected by leprosy and disability in the development process.
