Roles and responsibilities of this job

A reputed school located at Shankarapur-06, Kathmandu is seeking a young, energetic, motivated, and passionate Sports Teacher who is committed to students’ holistic development and believes in an experiential and progressive approach to teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct engaging physical education, sports, and fitness activities for students of different age groups.
Teach and coach students in a variety of indoor and outdoor sports and games.
Develop students’ physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, discipline, confidence, and sportsmanship.
Organize regular training sessions, practices, competitions, tournaments, and sports-related events.
Identify students’ sporting abilities and provide appropriate guidance and opportunities for development.
Motivate students to participate actively in sports and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safe handling of sports equipment and facilities.
Maintain discipline and ensure student safety and well-being during all sports and physical activities.
Apply appropriate safety measures and basic injury-prevention practices during training and activities.
Maintain records of students’ participation, performance, and progress in sports activities.
Work collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and school management to support students’ overall development.
Participate actively in school events, co-curricular activities, meetings, and professional development programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Health and Physical Education, or a related field.
Candidates with relevant professional training or certification in sports coaching/physical education will be preferred.
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant teaching or sports coaching experience in a recognized educational institution is preferred.
Fresh and qualified candidates with strong practical knowledge and skills in sports may also be considered.
Sound knowledge of a range of indoor and outdoor sports and games.
Ability to train, guide, motivate, and engage students of different age groups.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organizational, leadership, and team-management abilities.
Ability to maintain discipline and ensure a safe and positive environment for students.
Knowledge of basic first aid and injury prevention will be an added advantage.
Positive, energetic, responsible, and passionate about working with children and young learners.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and school management.
