Role Overview

Bichitras is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a contract-based hybrid role in Kathmandu, with partial work-from-home flexibility. This role is project-based, with the potential for full-time recruitment based on performance, leadership skills, and technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Architect, develop, and optimize scalable and secure backend systems.
• Project Management: Oversee and coordinate software development activities, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices.
• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor the development team, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
• Code Quality & Performance: Implement and enforce industry-standard coding practices, code reviews, and performance optimization techniques.
• Technical Decision-Making: Contribute to architectural discussions, technology selection, and problem-solving for complex software challenges.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven Experience: Minimum 4+ years in backend development with expertise in frameworks such as Django.
• Database Management: Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational/non-relational databases.
• Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• API Design & Optimization: Developing efficient RESTful and GraphQL APIs that align with Flutter’s reactive UI architecture.
• Problem-Solving & Leadership: Ability to lead technical projects, make informed decisions, and mentor junior developers.
