A formal engineering qualification (Bachelor’s Degree, Masters) – likely to be Electrical and possibly control based
7+ years’ experience with a contractor or Engineering consultancy
Site experience such is installation and commissioning is desirable
A good knowledge of engineering quantities and programmes
Good ability with engineering calculations and design reports
High proficiency in M365 and SharePoint
Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail
Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks
IELTS B1 / B2 English language written & spoken

Job Description

Specialist in Electrical power systems and generator control
Experience of working within and administering company High Voltage Safety rules and authorisations
Technical requirements for distributed generation (including G98, G99 and G100)
Load Modelling of simple and complex networks
Harmonic and transient analysis
Power System Protection grading studies
Specification of Low and Medium Voltage (MV) equipment to relevant Engineering Standards Recommendations
Sizing and specifications of buried MV cable networks
Outline and detailed design and specification of Hydro, Solar and electrical power projects including the civil and mechanical interfaces.
Know the sequence of jobs (in the office) and pre-empt the need for information/client input
Manage the interface between the site-based contractor’s staff and the designers and help in resolving site based design changes.
Work as part of a team to suggest improvements which will benefit our clients.

Shift Work

The post will be required to undertake some shift work (early or late)
Weekend work will be required regularly
Overtime will be paid where appropriate
