About the job

Job Overview:

The role of the Senior Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting by the Data and Analytics department.The Senior Data Engineer builds data processing frameworks that handle the business’s growing database. You need a keen eye for detail, work experience as a data analyst, and in-depth knowledge of the most used databases and tools for data analysis if you want to succeed in this position.

Essential Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.

4 years of plus experience in Data Engineering and Data Analytics job as well as team mentorship

Key Responsibilities:

Where necessary, create, construct, and implement new data collection systems.

Give instruction and direction on newly implemented systems.

Keep a copy of the used code on hand for system upgrades and fixes in the future.

Manage and transform raw data into knowledge that other professionals can understand.

Make sure the individuals who need access to the data can easily interpret it and use it to make informed business decisions.

Coach and educate young engineers.

Make sure the data systems you implement have the appropriate security.

Collaborating with the software research and development teams.

Key Skills/ Knowledge:

MySQL: Database for Relational SQL

Python: numpy , pandas, sklern, spark , scala, matlaplib

Apache airflow: Job Automation Tools

Programming tools: Java script, python, shell scripting in Linux for job automation

Excellent project management skills.

An understanding of database management systems

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Skills in datalake and data warehousing

Good interpersonal skills and teamwork
