Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Gurukulam School is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Academic Coordinator to oversee academic planning, curriculum implementation, and instructional quality across the school. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in supporting teachers, monitoring academic standards, and ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Roles & Responsibilities (Key Expectations):

Coordinate and monitor academic programs across grade levels
Ensure effective implementation of curriculum and lesson plans
Supervise academic assessments, examinations, and result analysis
Support teachers in professional development and instructional improvement
Address academic concerns of students and parents promptly
Maintain academic discipline and quality assurance standards
Collaborate with school leadership for continuous academic improvement

Requirements & Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

Master’s Degree in Education or a relevant academic field (M.Ed./M.A. preferred)
Teaching License (preferred)

Experience:

Minimum 5–7 years of teaching experience
At least 2–3 years of experience in an academic coordination, leadership, or supervisory role
Experience in curriculum planning, assessment, and teacher mentoring

Core Competencies:

Strong academic leadership and classroom management skills
Sound knowledge of curriculum frameworks, pedagogy, and assessment systems
Ability to guide, mentor, and evaluate teachers
Experience in lesson planning, academic calendar implementation, and academic reporting
Proficiency in preparing academic documents, reports, and policies
Familiarity with digital tools (LMS, ERP, MS Office, Google Workspace, academic apps)
