We are looking for senior research position that will lead a small team of researchers as well as work independently to ensure the vision of the organization is fulfilled.

Position Title: Research Specialist (Senior Position)
Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 5 PM (Sunday to Friday)
Salary Range: NPR Gross 70,000-75,000 per month

Job Description:

  • Lead a team of 4-5 researchers/juniors
  • Lead different projects; tool development, field work design, and lead report writer
  • Multi-task between projects
  • Prepare and manage project proposals
  • Monitoring and supervision of the project activities; able to communicate to clients
  • Visualize the mission and objective of company
  • Meet deadline/timeline of all work; ensure other team members do same
  • Assign desk review, literature review and other backend study as required
  • Conduct data collection through field visit for projects for verification. Should be comfortable traveling to remote areas and settling in communities, if required. Furthermore, should be comfortable walking for few hours everyday during field work, if required. Candidate should be flexible for field travel anytime in any situation as required.
  • Prepare/lead qualitative and quantitative instruments, survey, questionnaire, etc.
  • Facilitate training to participants
  • Consolidate and synthesize the data and information for quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Lead report writing and liaison with other team members; must be able to finalize the report
  • Prepare financial/budgeting plan for projects
  • Other as assigned

Skills/Requirements:

  • Excellent report writing (An absolute MUST) and oral communication skills in English and Nepali
  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Development Studies, Anthropology, Sociology or similar that is relevant in the development sector
  • 4-5 years or more ACTUAL experience specifically in the field of M&E, and/or research in area of social development
  • Able to adamantly manage, motivate, and review the performance of a team (Important)
  • Experienced in data collection methods like survey, interviews, and group discussions
  • Good understanding of statistical data analysis packages – SPSS, STATA or other similar
  • MUST travel to rural areas of Nepal with basic amenities for projects
  • Able to multi-task handling different projects
  • Able to work efficiently within the stipulated deadline in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal to no supervision
  • Able to guide a small team and assign work effortlessly
  • Motivated to work as per need of the organization (Important)
