Roles and responsibilities of this job

Nepal Language & Research Solutions (NLRS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research and Business Development Officer to support research initiatives, proposal development, and organizational growth.

This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about research, writing, coordination, and development sector engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Opportunity Mapping:

Identify and pursue opportunities in research, consulting, and development projects
Monitor calls for proposals (NGOs, INGOs, government, and private sector)
Support the development of business strategies and client engagement plans
Assist in building partnerships with national and international organizations

2. Proposal Writing & Documentation

Draft high-quality proposals for:

Research studies
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) assignments
Training manuals and reports

Develop concept notes and technical documents

3. Research & Reporting:

Assist in qualitative and quantitative research activities
Prepare research reports, summaries, and presentations
Support data collection, review, and documentation processes
Ensure accuracy and consistency in all research outputs

4. Event & Training Coordination:

Coordinate logistics for workshops, trainings, and events
Communicate with participants, trainers, and stakeholders
Support smooth execution of field and office-based programs
Prepare schedules, materials, and attendance records

5. Translation & Communication:

Translate documents between English and Nepali
Ensure contextual accuracy in translation work
Support internal and external communication materials
Proofread and edit reports and documents

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Management, Development Studies, or related field
Prior experience in research, proposal writing, or project coordination is an advantage
Fresh graduates with strong writing skills are encouraged to apply

Skills & Competencies:

Strong command of English and Nepali (written & verbal)
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Strong organizational and coordination ability
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Research and analytical thinking ability
Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

Work Mode: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM)

Salary: NPR 25,000 – 40,000 (based on experience and skills)
