Job Outline
A Provincial Bridge Engineer (PBE) main tasks are managing all the technical assistance related with bridge design and bridge construction contract management under the guidance of PBC
Qualifications and Experience
The Provincial Bridge Engineers should have a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with minimum 3 years’ experience. The candidate must have capability to design, supervise construction, prepare and manage contracts for bridge execution as per the available design standards and public procurement rules with various alternative materials and structural arrangements. S/He should have independently designed and supervised construction of at least two motorable bridges of different types such as RCC, suspension, arch, truss, compact, pre-fabricated bridges etc. Proven experience of working/collaborating/coordinating/ facilitating with government organizations in a similar position or experience with LRBP will be an added advantage. S/he shall have very good command over written and spoken English and Nepali.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the PBC, the PBE will be responsible for managing designs, design reviews, construction supervision, contracts management, quality control, ensuring social and environmental safeguards in the provinces. S/he will manage and supervise Technical Officers’ tasks of bridge construction supervision, contract management and reporting.
