Job Description
Roles and responsibilities of this job
The Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (ACORAB) Nepal invites applications from qualified, motivated, and proactive individuals for the following positions under its community-based disaster preparedness and resilience initiative.
Over the years, ACORAB has actively strengthened disaster preparedness, response, and recovery through community radio broadcasting, public awareness campaigns, and the dissemination of accessible, timely, and actionable weather and climate information. ACORAB operates one of South Asia's largest community radio networks, the Community Information Network (CIN), which connects stations through a centralized satellite system. CIN’s flagship programme, ‘Sajha Khabar’ reaches over 2.8 million listeners daily and amplifies local voices and accountability issues. Following the devastating Rasuwa–Bhotekoshi flood of 26 August 2026, ACORAB is implementing initiatives to strengthen community access to weather and climate information services (WCIS), promote disaster risk awareness, and enhance local preparedness and resilience.
The project (approximately five months from 16 October 2026 – 31 March 2027) will be implemented across five districts: Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan through the production and broadcasting of locally relevant media content, engagement with community radio stations, and community-level information clinics, interactions, and assessments.
