Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

Tasks:

Oversee day-to-day program and management of Suma after school
Create lesson plans and program schedule based on established curriculum
Co-teach daily classes
Provide regular training sessions for staff
Create monthly and year end-reports
Regular communication with US director via email and Skype regarding curriculum, management, children behaviour, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience:

At least Master’s Degree preferably with experience in early education or primary level teaching or child psychology, knowledge of Montessori, Reggio, and Waldorf curriculum is a plus
Fluency in Nepali is not mandatory as our teachers speak English, but is a plus
Strong administrative and management skills
Evaluation and reporting skills
Must be willing to commit to a minimum of two years, longer is preferred.

Our organisation focuses on three main programs: an after-school program that provides academic, emotional, and medical support for children living in orphanages and extreme poverty; a women’s literacy program to empower and educate women in our community; and teacher trainings in rural schools to provide educators with resources to help them improve outcomes in their classrooms.
