Roles and responsibilities of this job

4 Full-time Teaching Positions in Benchen Monastery School and a full scholarship to attend the Primary Training in the Abiding Heart Education approach.

Benchen Monastery School is now seeking to hire 4 new teachers to join our thriving school. We are collaborating with Abiding Heart Education, a teacher training center, to offer full-time teacher training to successful candidates who will join our teaching team. We are looking for committed and enthusiastic candidates who wish to move into a career in high-quality education.

Abiding Heart Education in collaboration with Benchen Monastery School is happy to offer for the third time in three years, four full scholarships in Primary Teachers' education.

Responsibilities:

Lesson planning and preparation
Creating learning resources
Checking pupils' work and providing feedback
Attending parents' evenings
Preparing for inspections
Running extracurricular activities
Undertaking professional development.

Job Specifications:

Essential: Bachelor's degree or 10+2 with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
Desirable: a bachelor's or master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
Language: Good command of written and spoken English, Bhoti, and Nepali.
Aptitude: Should be willing and able to learn a new education approach and work as part of a team

Benefits:

Successful candidates will receive full-time primary teacher training and are guaranteed an immediate teaching position at Benchen Monastery School in Pharping. Please note that the training course is taught in English and excellent command of English is a must.

Benchen Monastery is a Buddhist Gumba established in 1976 at Swayambhu, Kathmandu. The Gumba offers Himalayan Buddhist education and culture, from essential ritual art, music, and dance to philosophy and advanced meditations. Gumba has a Buddhist College for Higher Buddhist studies and a Monastic Primary School at Pharping, Dakshinkali Municipality.

There are more than 200 senior Lamas at the monastery and its branch, a monastic college, and 165 small monks at its branch, a monastic school at Pharping.
