Reports To: Head Teacher – Primary / Principal

Job Summary

The Science Teacher – Primary Level is responsible for delivering engaging, inquiry-based Science instruction aligned with the Cambridge Primary Science Curriculum. The role focuses on nurturing curiosity, observation skills, and foundational scientific understanding through hands-on, age-appropriate learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

Plan and deliver interactive Science lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary Science framework.
Develop students’ understanding of basic scientific concepts, skills, and scientific vocabulary.
Conduct age-appropriate experiments, investigations, and demonstrations following safety guidelines.
Encourage curiosity, questioning, observation, and simple scientific reasoning.
Use differentiated teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
Integrate real-life connections, environmental awareness, and cross-curricular links.
Maintain a positive, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment.

Assessment & Reporting

Conduct formative and summative assessments in line with Cambridge Primary assessment standards.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, practical work, and learning evidence.
Provide clear and constructive feedback to support student progress.
Prepare academic reports and actively participate in Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs).

Student Support & Well-being

Identify individual learning needs and provide appropriate academic support or enrichment.
Support students’ confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for Science.
Ensure student safety, well-being, and positive behavior at all times.
Strictly adhere to child safeguarding, health, and safety policies.

Professional Responsibilities

Participate in curriculum planning, moderation, and review meetings.
Contribute to interdisciplinary projects, science fairs, exhibitions, and school events.
Collaborate with colleagues to support integrated and experiential learning.
Engage in continuous professional development related to Cambridge Primary Science pedagogy.
Follow school policies, professional standards, and the code of conduct.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 2 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Cambridge-trained and minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching Science within the Cambridge or IB Primary curriculum.
Prior experience in an international or English-medium school preferred.
