Position Summary
The Pre-School Head is responsible for providing academic, administrative, and operational leadership to the Pre-School Section of United School. The position ensures the delivery of high-quality early childhood education through effective curriculum implementation, teacher development, student well-being, parent engagement, and efficient school operations. The role requires creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment that supports the holistic development of young learners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership and Curriculum Management
- Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Pre-School curriculum.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with Early Childhood Education standards and best practices.
- Promote child-centered, play-based, inquiry-based, and experiential learning approaches.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom instruction, and student assessments.
- Introduce innovative teaching methodologies and learning resources.
- Conduct periodic curriculum reviews and recommend improvements.
- Ensure age-appropriate developmental learning outcomes are achieved.
- Monitor school readiness and transition preparedness of graduating students.
2. Student Development, Welfare, and Child Protection
- Ensure the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and language development of students.
- Establish systems to monitor developmental milestones and student progress.
- Promote positive behavior management practices.
- Ensure implementation of child safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Investigate and report child welfare concerns in accordance with school policies.
- Coordinate interventions for students requiring additional developmental support.
- Promote student attendance and well-being.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
3. Staff Leadership and Human Resource Management
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop Pre-School staff.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and coaching sessions.
- Ensure effective performance management and evaluation of staff.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, accountability, and professional conduct.
- Support staff engagement, retention, and succession planning.
- Develop future leaders within the Pre-School team.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
4. Parent and Community Engagement
- Establish strong partnerships with parents and guardians.
- Conduct parent orientations, parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and awareness programs.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with parents.
- Address parent concerns and grievances professionally.
- Promote parent participation in school activities and events.
- Develop community partnerships that contribute to student development and institutional growth.
- Collaborate with external organizations and experts to enhance educational programs.
5. Enrollment Growth and School Promotion
- Support student recruitment, admissions, and retention initiatives.
- Participate in school marketing and branding activities.
- Organize orientation programs, open houses, and enrollment campaigns.
- Enhance parent satisfaction and promote positive word-of-mouth referrals.
- Contribute to achieving annual enrollment targets.
- Promote the reputation and image of the Pre-School and United School.
6. Operational and Resource Management
- Oversee daily operations of the Pre-School.
- Ensure efficient utilization of classrooms, learning resources, and facilities.
- Monitor transportation arrangements and student handover procedures.
- Ensure timely procurement of educational materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records related to students, staff, transportation, and operations.
- Coordinate maintenance and improvement of Pre-School facilities.
- Ensure smooth execution of school events, celebrations, and enrichment programs.
- Manage operational resources efficiently and responsibly.
7. Health, Safety, Nutrition, and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Monitor accident prevention and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Ensure proper incident reporting and corrective action implementation.
- Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of the Pre-School environment.
- Monitor the quality, nutrition, and safety of food provided to children.
- Ensure student transportation safety and security.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections and risk assessments.
8. Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with school policies, regulations, and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate academic and administrative records.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to the Principal and Board of Directors.
- Monitor achievement of institutional goals and performance indicators.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with documentation requirements.
- Develop annual operational plans and monitor implementation.
9. Strategic Leadership and Institutional Development
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development of United School.
- Develop initiatives to enhance educational quality and student outcomes.
- Lead innovation and improvement projects within the Pre-School.
- Participate in leadership meetings and institutional committees.
- Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support long-term sustainability and growth of the institution.
