The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for delivering age-appropriate learning experiences to young children through activity-based and play-way methods. The role focuses on developing foundational skills, ensuring emotional and physical safety, and creating a cheerful, child-friendly classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the early childhood curriculum.
Use play-based, activity-oriented, and experiential teaching methods to enhance learning.
Teach foundational skills such as phonics, numbers, colors, shapes, and basic communication.
Conduct interactive sessions including storytelling, rhymes, music, art & craft, and games.
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
Manage classroom behavior using positive and child-friendly approaches.
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper use of learning materials and toys.
Monitor and assess children’s developmental progress (cognitive, social, emotional, and physical).
Maintain records such as attendance, lesson plans, and student progress reports.
Provide individual attention and support to meet each child’s learning needs.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and development.
Participate in parent–teacher meetings, school events, and activities.
Plan and support classroom events, celebrations, and school functions.
Prepare creative teaching aids and learning resources.
Follow school policies and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Job Specification
Required qualifications for this job
Other Specification
Bachelor’s degree (ECE/Child Development preferred).
Training in Early Childhood Education / Montessori / Pre-Primary Teaching.
B.Ed. is an added advantage.
Love for children, patience, and a nurturing personality.
Strong communication skills and child-friendly teaching approach.
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy.
Creativity in classroom activities and teaching aids.
Classroom management and observation skills.
Basic computer skills.
