Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Posting Specialist is responsible for preparing, posting, reviewing, and reconciling batches received from various sources, including bank deposits, eFax, courier, or electronic remittance advices to ensure complete batches and accurate deposit totals. [Extensive training will be provided for this entry-level position and candidates without any experience are also encouraged to apply.]

Responsibilities:

Posts patient payments, insurance payments, government agency payments, and zero payment insurance denials to patient accounts.
Posts adjustments, refunds, voids, and recoupment transactions per department protocol.
Analyzes explanations of benefits (EOBs) for accuracy and forwards discrepancies to the appropriate area for resolution.
Reconciles cash posted to deposit tickets daily.
Maintains various Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to track and reconcile payments received.
Works any assignments to resolve unidentified payments, missing or incorrect EOB information, or other reimbursement issues.
Operates various automated data systems to obtain information, such as patient demographics, insurance information, and electronic remittance reports.
Meets all department accuracy and productivity standards.
Maintains appropriate records for area(s) of responsibility.
Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA.
Maintains company confidentiality.
Attends all regular staff meetings.
Participates in continuing training to keep current on area of specialty.
Works overtime as needed.
Completes additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 1 year

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in any field
Computer experience including good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and internet
Experience with alpha-numeric data entry
Strong English language written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to perform assigned tasks independently
Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines
Ability to develop productive working relationships in a team environment
