Roles and responsibilities of this job

A Dairy Plant Operator is responsible for managing and overseeing the production and processing of dairy products in a plant setting. Their job involves a mix of operational tasks, quality control, and maintaining equipment to ensure that dairy products are produced in a safe, efficient, and sanitary manner.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee Dairy Processing:

Monitor the production of dairy products like Milk, Cheese Curd, Cream, Butter milk etc.
Operate and adjust machinery involved in the milk & cream pasteurization, cream separation process.
Perform daily CIP of Silos, Pasteurizer, Separator, vats.
Ensure all processes adhere to food safety regulations, including maintaining proper temperatures, cleanliness, and processing times.

2. Monitor Equipment and Systems:

Ensure all plant machinery (e.g., pasteurizers, separators) are functioning correctly.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to prevent malfunctions.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues when they arise.

3. Sanitation and Hygiene:

Maintain clean and sanitary working conditions in the plant.
Oversee and participate in cleaning routines for production equipment, storage tanks, and plant facilities.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

Record production data, maintenance logs, and quality control points and critical limits.
Prepare and submit reports on production outputs, issues, and improvements.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations by keeping detailed logs and documentation.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Higher Secondary (+2/A Levels/IB)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills: Knowledge of dairy processing equipment, machinery, and control systems.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot equipment or production issues.
Attention to Detail: High focus on product quality and compliance with health standards.
Communication: Ability to work well within a team and with other departments.
Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting, standing, and moving equipment.
Education: SLC/SEE A or equivalent is recommended; a degree or certification in food science,dairy technology, or a related field is a plus.
Experience: 3-4 Years experience in a dairy plant as a Plant Operator.

Working Conditions:

Work may be performed in cold, humid, or noisy environments.
Shift work may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the plant’s production schedule.
