About the job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Officer to join our legal team. As a Legal Officer, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters affecting the organization. This role requires a thorough understanding of corporate law, contract negotiation, compliance issues, and risk management. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and timely legal advice to management and other stakeholders on various legal issues.
Review and draft contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Negotiate terms and conditions with external parties and vendors.
Draft and review contracts to protect the organization's interests.
Monitor compliance with legal guidelines and internal policies.
Identify and mitigate legal risks within the organization.
Coordinate with external counsel on litigation matters when necessary.
Assist in managing disputes and legal proceedings involving the organization.
Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
Conduct legal training sessions for staff on relevant legal issues and updates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited institution; Master's degree in Law (LLM) preferred.
Proven 5 years of experience working as a Legal Officer or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and legal procedures.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
