Energising Development (EnDev) is a global partnership to promote sustainable and affordable energy access in developing economies around the globe which is currently financed by four donor countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Norway and, Switzerland.

EnDev promotes sustainable access to modern energy services that meet the needs of the poor - long-lasting, affordable, and appreciated by users.

EnDev Programme in Nepal is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur lnternationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) since 2008 to facilitate access to modern energy services through the on-grid, off-grid and clean cooking technologies. EnDev is working together with the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) and the National Association of Community Electricity Users Nepal (NACEUN) to improve access to the energy (electricity) of the rural population through a Revolving Fund (RF) mechanism. Similarly, Practical Action & SNV are implementing projects with the theme of promoting “Clean Cooking Technologies through Sustainable Market Development” to provide clean, efficient, and safe cooking solutions to rural households in Nepal by establishing a sustainable market system of electric cookstoves.

Position: Junior Advisor- M&E, Gender, Communication and PR
Duty Station: Kathmandu

Responsibilities:

  • Support in the implementation of EnDev Nepal planned activities and objective.
  • Responsible for data collection and ensure quality and integrity of monitoring data of all the program components.
  • Conduct field visits for to assess quality of the project component interventions.
  • Ensure quality data inputs in the Online Data Management (ODM) for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Productive use of Energy (PUE) and Social Institution (SI) sector.
  • Coordinate with the team to update the operation plan and follow up on activities.
  • Follow up, control, and evaluate the project target achievement and contribute to new concepts/strategies for optimal and sustainable target achievements in each component based on M&E findings/reflections.
  • Assist in maintenance and update timely archive for all M&E actions of the project.
  • Act as GESI focal point and support in conceptualizing and operationalizing GESI approach of EnDev Nepal along with country office and latest guidelines from EnDev HQ.
  • Support in conducting research/studies/evaluation along with consultants/researchers and partners.
  • Frequent exchange with focal person at EnDev HQ, retrieve information form Energypedia.
  • Support in orienting the implementing partners and EnDev staff on GESI, inclusion and Do no Harm (DnH) aspects.
  • Support in improving and/or develop new information-communication materials (internal and external).
  • Analyze and coordinate with CREEs the need of GESI, DnH and other gender and inclusion as well as PU and SI aspects.
  • Any additional task assigned by the Programme Manager.

Required qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Social Work, Rural Development or related degree
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, GESI, communications and PR.
  • Preferrable with field experience.
  • Very good command of written and spoken English, fluency in Nepali.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and modern telecommunication systems (telephone, fax, e-mail, internet).
