IT Officer

Kathmandu University-Integrated Rural Development Project (KU-IRDP) is a project funded by the government of the Republic of Korea. It is jointly managed by Kathmandu University (KU) Nepal and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korea. Kathmandu University has formally established Nepal Technology Innovation Center (NTIC) as an entity in Nepal as a major milestone of "Integrated Rural Development of Nepal through Strengthening Research and Development capacity of Kathmandu University." 

The main objectives of IRDP/NTIC are: 

• Contribute for integrated rural development of Nepal by strengthening research and development capacity of Kathmandu University. 
• Promote technology innovation for improving quality of life and income status of people in rural communities in Nepal mainly in the fields of Agriculture & Rural Development, Alternative and Renewable Energy and Health related Livelihood.

IRDP/NTIC is currently seeking a qualified IT Officer to manage the overall IT related activities of the project. 

Scope of work: 

• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners 
• Performing periodic administrative activities, diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimize website and other social media portal 
• Keeping the computer and network systems running smoothly and ensuring users are getting the maximum benefit from them 
• Development and Management of IRDP/NTIC Database System within the IRDP/ NTIC website 
• Managing/ Editing NTIC reports, articles, news related to Technology in Nepal 
• Communication with media houses or other organization for promotional activities 
• Any other work related to IT on a need basis. 

Qualifications and Experiences: 

• Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, web design or other relevant field with 1+ years of relevant work experience. 

Core Technical Competencies: 

• Strong command over development and management of Website Must be adaptable, self-motivated, and goal-driven 
• Strong analytical, oral, written communication and interpersonal skills in English and Nepali. 
• Website and Graphic Designing Skills 
• Problem solving skills 

Candidates with additional qualifications and experiences on website and data management tools, data collection method, statistical analysis methods will be given preference. 

Contract duration: Duration of Contract: 1 Year 
Starting Date: From the date of signing of Contract
Reporting to: NTIC office, KU-IRDP
