Maryknoll Nepal/ Aashadeep Nepal looking to hiring an Executive Manager to run its programmes related to mental health including residential center based at Nayapati, Gokarneshwor, about 7 Km from Chabahil, Kathmandu on way to Sundarijal and other Outreach & Day Care Centers.

Ideal candidate may possess many of the following characteristics:

Candidate must have a passion for social works, especially in the much neglected area of mental health
Willing to accept challenges
Good command of both Nepali and English languages
Able to write proposals for funding
Must possess a Master’s degree
At least one year working experience of Health Sector

ORGANIZATION PROFILE.

Aasha Deep Nepal was established in 1991 as a non-profit and non-governmental, voluntary social organization. It started its work in partnership with the Sisters of Nazareth to release men and women who were in jail solely due to their mental illness. No hospital facility could accommodate their needs. In addition, families of such patients were had wrong ideas about mental illness due to widespread misunderstanding and stigma in the community. Therefore, these families viewed putting their loved ones in jail as the only alternative to struggling to manage their behaviours at home. Their living conditions in jail were appalling: they were treated inhumanely and had no access to psychiatric treatment.

Aasha Deep Nepal has remained dedicated to those with mental illness and extended its services in order to reach more people and work towards our vision of a healthy society where all can live with dignity, justice and respect.
